Sadly, our conductor, Rupert Bond, will be stepping down at the end of this academic year. Rupert has served as the orchestra’s musical director since 2017, bringing a wealth of experience from his distinguished career as both a teacher and a conductor. His dedication has been instrumental to the development of our ensemble, nurturing players from a wide range of musical and technical backgrounds. The Summer Concert on Wednesday 24 June 2026, will be Rupert’s last concert with us as Musical Director. We are grateful for his leadership and the significant progress the orchestra has made under his guidance.
So we are now seeking a new Musical Director. The successful candidate will be expected to continue to inspire, motivate, and support our group of amateur musicians, helping each member to achieve their potential regardless of experience or ability.
